I have a sometimes unhealthy obsession with nail polish

Nail of the Day: 11.9.2011
This polish is Designer…de Better! from OPI’s Holiday 2011 Muppets collection. I would describe it as a silvery champagne shimmer that will be great for the holidays. It’s opaque in two coats, which I love! I picked this bottle up at a local salon about a month ago, but I’ve been told Ulta has the Muppets collection in stock now as well.
I’ve been reading a lot of nail polish blogs lately, and it seems the Muppets Collection is a hit or miss with most. I’m kind of on the fence with the collection as a whole. I purchased 4 of the 12 polishes, all of which I’m quite happy with. I agree that the collection is not the most holiday-inspired, and some of the colors are similar to other OPI polishes (the deep reds and plums). But Designer…de Better! is one of my favorites.
What do you think of the collection?

Nail of the Day: 10.10.2011
This warm copper shade, Warm & Fozzie, is from the OPI Holiday 2011 collection. I did a little research after purchasing three polishes from the collection at JCPenney on Friday, and it appears that the collection is not available at most retailers until November 1st. So if you have a JCPenney in your area, I’d start there. It’s incredibly shimmery with gold and pink flecks in the copper base. This baby is definitely going to be a staple in my collection this autumn and winter.

The wait is over!
Thankfully a good friend of mine rang this morning to tell me the OPI Holiday 2011 Muppets collection was at JCPenney! As I mentioned yesterday, the collection was rumored to hit stores no sooner than November 1st, but clearly Christmas came early this year! The collection consists of 12 colors (6 shimmers and 6 glitters), all inspired by characters in the upcoming Muppets film landing in theaters November 23rd. JCPenney is currently running a buy two get one free deal on all OPI polishes (regular price $8.50). OPI can also be found at Ulta, Beauty First, Trade Secret, and many fine salons.
The top photo shows the three polishes I picked up (L-R): Excuse Moi!, Divine Swine, and Warm & Fozzie. I wish I could have gotten my hands on Designer, de Better!, but it sold out in less than 24 hours at JCPenney, so the hunt continues. The bottom photo shows the entire collection, described as the following:
Animal-istic: This wild bright red cannot be tamed!
Meep-Meep-Meep: Missing out on this fuchsia would make you weep, weep, weep!Wocka Wocka!: The popular deep berry makes everything fun and merry!Pepe’s Purple Passion: This deep, decadent shade is the best purple ever, okay!
Designer, de Better!: And this light metallic bronze is ready for the runway.
Warm & Fozzie: A feel-good shade of metallic copper.Rainbow Connection: The rainbow glitter of your dreams. (It also makes for a great dupe of Deborah Lippmann’s Happy Birthday, at less than half the price)!
Excuse Moi!: Ahem! This pink glitter has something to say!Gone Gonzo!: The aqua-blue glitter is taking over the world!Fresh Frog of Bel Air: A glitter that prefers the greener things in life.Divine Swine: The finest, most fabulous magenta glitter ever. Gettin’ Miss Piggy With It!: Red glittery fun for everyone!

I must say, I am absolutely thrilled with this collection! The colors are absolutely beautiful and would make a great addition to any polish fan’s collection. I can’t wait to try them out. Swatches to come soon!
